Chess is an Olympic sport
Did you know that chess is an Olympic sport? It’s true. Believe it or not, I could win a gold medal one day. All I need to do is read my “Bobby Fisher Teaches Chess” book more, and I could do it. The only thing standing in my way is the Olympic committee…
Every year some group of people (the Olympic committee) chooses a new sport to be in the Olympics. They have a list of events to choose from, and chess is on that list. I hope that my day will come, when I can walk stand on that first place podium and hear the U.S. National Anthem, while someone gives me a gold medal for beating the Russians in chess.
I know, I aspire for greatness!

Norway beat Germany in curling, and now they face Switzerland!!!! What is this world coming to? I remember when all you had to worry about was Canada. I think the U.S. should get in there and show these European countries how curling is played!
A Basketball Story
When I was young I played basketball on a youth league at the YMCA. I remember one year I had a coach that told the team everyone was going to score. Boy did I make a liar out of him. I went the entire year, and never scored a touch down. I would just jog around the court half-heartedly until I was out of breath and wanted to sit on the bench.
At one point I was in a perfect position to score, but sadly, someone blocked me… Thus I was the only one on the team who did not score.
Coach, if you are reading this, I am sorry… But, honestly, why did you fool yourself into thinking I could do it? Even I knew you had your head in the clouds on that one…
